Emma Barty (BSc. FCA, CTA)
Director
Tell us about your role
I am Director at HaesCooper and look after a variety of clients within the practice. I am passionate about providing a proactive service to my clients. I love really getting to know out clients, so I feel like part of their business rather than external to it. It feels great when my advice leads to clients making sensible and tax efficient decisions.
What’s your background?
I qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Leeds, in September 2000. After qualifying, I gained experience in financial accounting and business planning within a number of businesses of varying sizes across several sectors, such as retail (Sainsburys Plc) and FMCG (Burtons Foods Ltd). To add another string to my bow, I also qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor in January 2012.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
With three children in three different schools and a husband who also runs his own business, spare time is not something I am used to! But if I do find myself with free time, there is nothing I enjoy more than a family dog walk to one of our lovely local pubs. I am also a keen (but slow) runner.
CloseGeorgina Carter (BSc. FCA)
Head of Accounts
Tell us about your role
I look after our clients’ wide range of accounting needs. One morning I might be on a zoom call with a client discussing their business plan and in the afternoon preparing a cash flow forecast for another. Day to day I help new clients get started with accounting software, making sure they are registered with HMRC if their business is new, guiding them every step of the way. I also work with our team of bookkeepers and accountants to make sure all of our clients’ annual accounts, tax returns and VAT returns are filed on time.
What’s your background?
I qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Jersey, in 2007, after gaining considerable experience auditing a number of financial clients. After qualifying, I moved to London and spent a year as an Assistant Manager in the banking department at the audit firm, Mazars LLP. Here I gained a diploma in management whilst managing a portfolio of clients. Before returning to practice with HaesCooper in 2016, I was the Finance Manager at The Pensions & Lifetime Savings Association for five years.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I live in Kent and enjoy walking the dog with my family on the weekends, exploring the Ashdown forest.

Generally, I’d like to think that I am there for clients and staff alike to help with anything and everything that might come my way!

Following an internal re-jig of the business in 2020, I became HaesCooper’s Practice Manager.
